Fatimah (AS): The Star of Guidance
Fatimah (AS): The Star of Guidance
In verse 35 of Surah An-Nur, Allah says:
“…كَأَنَّهَا كَوْكَبٌ دُرِّيٌّ يُوقَدُ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ زَيْتُونَةٍ …”
“…as though it were a glistening star, lit from a blessed olive tree…”
According to a narration from Imam al-Sadiq (AS), the phrase “kawkabun durriyyun” (a luminous, radiant star) in this verse refers to the sacred personality of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (AS), for she is “the radiant star among the women of this world and the women of Paradise.”
(Bihar al-Anwar, al-Majlisi, vol. 23, p. 304; Manaqib al-Imam Ali by Ibn al-Maghazili, vol. 3, pp. 361–363)
In light of this verse and the aforementioned narration, it becomes evident that the Queen of the Universe is a divine beacon of guidance. By following her character and way of life, a person can attain the lofty stations of salvation, eternal happiness, and true success—truths clearly affirmed in numerous other narrations.
