Fatimah (AS) and the Divine Reward

Fatimah (AS) and the Divine Reward

Allah, the Almighty, declares in the Noble Qur’an, addressing His Noble Prophet (PBUH):

«وَ لَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَى»

“And soon your Lord will grant you such that you will be pleased.” (Surah Ad-Duha, 93:5)

Numerous narrations related to the interpretation of this verse report:
“The Noble Prophet (PBUH) once saw Lady Fatimah (AS) wearing a coarse woolen cloak, grinding flour with her hands, and simultaneously breastfeeding her child. Witnessing this scene, tears filled the Prophet’s eyes, and he said:
‘O my daughter! Endure the hardships of this world in exchange for the sweetness of the Hereafter.’

Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (AS) replied:
‘All praise is due to Allah. I thank Him for His blessings and bounties.’

At that very moment, this verse was revealed:

‘And soon your Lord will grant you such that you will be pleased.’
(Sources: Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 18, p. 176; Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 43, p. 85; Makarim al-Akhlaq, p. 235)

This means that Allah, the Exalted, is announcing magnificent rewards in return for the patience and gratitude of the beloved daughter of His Messenger (PBUH). Implicitly, He also conveys this universal truth: whoever faces the temporary trials of this world with patience and thankfulness, Allah will soon bless them abundantly, granting them contentment and joy.
