My Good Father

Hazrat Fatima Zahra's (SA) lifestyle (5)

In the Battle of Ahzab, when the Holy City of Medina was besieged, everyone supported the war in any way s/he could.

Hadhrat Zahra (as) was also offering her support by baking breads (that used as food in the battlefield) and she gave a large part of the support for whatever the Mujahideen needed.

On one of the days that she had prepared bread for her children, she and her sons could not eat the bread without her father; Because of that, she decided to run up to the battlefield where her father was and said to him: Oh Dear Father! I have baked bread, but I had no desire to eat this bread without you, I brought you the bread. The Prophet (pbuh) looked at his daughter with love and compassion and said in a calm and tired voice: “This is the first food your father will put in his mouth in three days”.

During the Conquest of Mecca (or Fat’hu Makkah by Muslims led by the Islamic Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.w, in December 629 or January 630 AD), Sayyidat Fatima (sa) made a tent for her Holy Father, the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w.), and prepared water for him to wash his face from the dust and to drink to quench his thirst when he was leaving for the Holy Mosque of Mecca.

The love of Sayyidat Fatima (sa) for the Prophet (s.a.w.w) was worship. The relationship between these two had a heavenly light. He always used to call his father by saying: Oh my Beloved Father.

She was very convincing to the Prophet (pbuh), and she made great efforts in preserving (Hifz) the hadiths of the Prophet (pbuh).

She always prioritized the pleasure of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.w) before her own pleasure.

And many times she passed (allowed) the distribution of her children’s food, clothes, curtains, necklaces, and even bracelets as alms for the sake of Allah (swt).

After the death of the Messenger of Allah, Sayyidat Fatima Zahra (sa) remembered her Father very much.

One of the events that made Sayyidat Fatimah (sa) to remember her father very much was when a group of invaders and usurpers of the rights of Ahlul-Bayt (as) decided to do what they did.

In their arguments against the arguments of Sayyidat Fatima (a.s) they stuck to a false Hadith claiming that: “Your father said that we, the group of Prophets, do not inherit from anyone, and we do not leave an inheritance after us”.

Hazrat Fatimah (sa) cried a lot against this unjust accusation and raised her voice at her father’s grave saying that:

“After you, there have been news and issues, which would not have been as big if you had been alive”.

We have lost you like a land deprived of rain and your people are scattered, come and see how they are lost….

When you left us and a curtain of clay blocked between us and you, a group of people in your community revealed the secrets of the chests.

Hazrat Fatima (sa) always remembered and said: How good my father you were, and (look) how were these people after you?!.
